Same two letters, different interval
The same two letters measure differently up and down: C up to G is a perfect 5th, seven semitones, but C down to G is a perfect 4th, five.

The math: subtract from 12
To turn an interval up into the interval down between the same two letters, subtract its semitones from 12: C up to G is 7, so C down to G is 12 − 7 = 5. The name flips with it: 5ths become 4ths, 3rds become 6ths, 2nds become 7ths, and major becomes minor while perfect stays perfect.
